Certifications & Compliance
Refined olive oil is virgin olive oil that has been refined to remove flavor defects and excess acidity. The result is a light, neutral oil that performs well under heat. XRT Group supplies refined olive oil and the blended grade sold simply as "olive oil" to foodservice operators, food manufacturers and private label brands.
Grades Explained
The International Olive Council (IOC) trade standard recognises several commercial olive oil grades. Refined olive oil must have free acidity of 0.3% or less, expressed as oleic acid, and a peroxide value of 5 meq O₂/kg or less. "Olive oil", sometimes labelled pure or classic, blends refined olive oil with virgin olive oil. Its free acidity limit is 1.0%. Both grades differ from extra virgin, which is unrefined and graded by sensory panel.
Applications
The neutral taste and heat stability of refined grades make them a practical choice for deep frying, sautéing, baking, mayonnaise, dressings and canned foods. Manufacturers often use them where an olive oil label claim is needed without the cost or strong flavor of extra virgin.
Formats & Logistics
Bulk supply moves in food-grade flexitanks for packers and industrial users. Bottled private label is available in PET, glass or tin for retail and foodservice. Supply is coordinated through our Rotterdam and Houston hubs, with FOB, CIF and DAP delivery.
Quality, Pricing & Terms
Each lot can be tested by SGS or Bureau Veritas for acidity, peroxide value and purity markers. Prices track olive oil market conditions and are quoted on request. Bulk contracts can follow FOSFA terms. Every counterparty passes FATF-aligned AML and KYC screening, and letter of credit settlement under UCP 600 is available.
