Colombian Excelso is the workhorse export grade of Colombian coffee: a washed, 100% Arabica green bean that roasters use as the backbone of blends and as a clean, balanced single origin. XRT Group sources Excelso EP (European Preparation) through its Medellín hub, close to the growing regions of Antioquia and the coffee axis, with commercial follow-up from the Houston desk.

Grade & Quality

Excelso EP is screen 15 and above, hand-sorted to a tighter defect tolerance than standard Excelso. Every Colombian export lot is checked by Almacafé, the quality-control arm of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC), before it can leave the country. Independent SGS inspection and pre-shipment samples for cupping can be arranged on request.

Pricing

Green coffee trades as a differential to the ICE Coffee "C" futures contract (KC). The Colombian differential moves with harvest size, screen size and cup quality, so it is quoted per RFQ for the lot, the shipment month and the Incoterm.

Packing & Logistics

Standard packing is 70 kg fique (natural-fibre) bags, with GrainPro or similar hermetic liners on request. A 20-foot container carries about 275 bags (roughly 19.2 MT). Main export ports are Cartagena and Santa Marta on the Caribbean and Buenaventura on the Pacific.

Documents & Compliance

Each shipment carries a certificate of origin, an ICA phytosanitary certificate, the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. For US imports the buyer files FDA Prior Notice; for EU imports, EUDR due diligence data (farm geolocation) is gathered at origin. All counterparties clear FATF-aligned KYC and OFAC screening.
